Mr. David Cutrer, Ph.D. is Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of NextG
Networks. Mr. Cutrer is a recognized expert on microcellular communication
networks and holds multiple patents in the field. Prior to co-founding NextG
Networks, Mr. Cutrer was co-founder, CTO and VP Engineering for LGC Wireless,
Inc. Mr. Cutrer earned his Ph.D. & Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
from the University of California at Berkeley and holds Bachelor of Science
degrees in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from the California
Institute of Technology.
Robert Delsman, Esq, VP Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. Robert Delsman, Esq. is Vice President of Government Relations & Regulatory
Affairs for NextG Networks. Prior to joining NextG, Mr. Delsman was Senior
Director of Government Relations and Network Real Estate for Metricom, Inc.
and responsible for directing the company's acquisition and administration
of right of way, franchise, network real estate, and investor owned utility
agreements throughout the United States. Before Metricom, Mr. Delsman practiced
real estate law at Lillick & Charles in San Francisco and at Crosby, Heafey,
Roach & May in Oakland, California. Mr. Delsman is a member of the State
Bar of California with a J.D. from Hastings College of the Law (University
of California) and holds degrees in Classics and Philosophy from Gonzaga
University and in Literae Humaniores from Oxford University, England.
Larry Doherty, Senior VP, Corporate Development
Mr. Doherty is a 30-year wireless industry veteran and expert in network asset
deployment and management. Through his years as an executive in the wireless telecommunications field, he was one of the
first to recognize and develop working Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) in Public
Right-of-Ways. And now, having built hundreds of DAS and thousands of traditional wireless
sites, he can claim credit for his significant role in the changing face of wireless
infrastructure design and implementation across the country. Prior to joining NextG Networks, Mr. Doherty served
as Director, National Property and Director, National Site Development for Sprint
PCS. Mr. Doherty has a proven record of expertise and experience in such disciplines as project management,
environmental analysis, zoning entitlement, site acquisition, construction management,
strategic planning, and governmental affairs.
John B. Georges, PhD, Chairman, CEO and Co-founder
Mr. John B. Georges, Ph. D. is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
of NextG Networks. Dr. Georges has more than twenty years experience in
the telecommunications industry and is widely regarded as a pioneer of RF-over-fiber
technology. Previously at Bellcore (now Telcordia), Dr. Georges was a member
of the R&D team that built the world's first operational DWDM system
in 1987. In 1996, Dr. Georges co-founded LGC Wireless and held executive
positions in business development, sales and engineering. Dr. Georges has
conducted business in over twenty countries and successfully closed major
contracts with Nortel Networks, AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS, Vodafone,
Nextel Communications, AG Communications Systems and SpectraSite. Dr. Georges
received his Ph. D in Electrical Engineering from the University of California
at Berkeley in 1994.
Raymond Ostby, CFO
Mr. Ostby has worked in finance for high technology companies throughout the Silicon Valley since 1978 and at the CFO level since 1985. He has a strong record of success including two IPOs, several private placements, and M&A transactions. Mr. Ostby brings significant expertise in financial management, corporate compliance, contract negotiations, patents, lawsuits, and human resources to NextG Networks. His previous companies include: Intel, Atmel, Force Computers, Quickturn Design Systems, KBC Pharma, and Arraycomm. He is currently a member of the board of directors of Trident Microsystems and previously served on the board of Verplex Design Systems. Mr. Ostby's educational background includes a B.A. and M.B.A. from University of Montana, and Ph.D. coursework in Quantitative Analysis at UC Berkeley.
Bo Piekarski, VP, Product Management and Marketing
Mr. Bo Piekarski, Vice President of Marketing for
NextG Networks, is a 22-year veteran of the wireless industry having worked
in RF, microwave, PCS, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, W-CDMA, and Software Defined Radio
(SDR) since 1983. Mr. Piekarski brings significant experience to NextG from
companies across the WWAN value chain - including Ericsson, Omnipoint, Voicestream/T-Mobile,
Xircom, and Spatial Wireless. Throughout his career in advanced wireless
technologies, Mr. Piekarski has managed projects and business units across
technical, business, and marketing functions. Prior to being VP of Business
Development for TelAsic, an IC spinout from Raytheon, he was General Manager
of Intel's Wireless WAN Operation, VP of Strategic Business for Omnipoint,
and held a variety of executive business development and marketing positions
at Ericsson's Wireless Communications Division including VP of Business
Development, VP of the GSM Business Unit, and VP of the PCS Unit. Mr. Piekarski
holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from The University of Michigan.
Todd Schultz, Senior VP, Operations
Mr. Schultz brings 20+ years of experience in technical operations, product
management, and network engineering across the entire voice & data communications
value chain. With years of experience in the build out and oversight of high volume
network communication infrastructures, wireless fiber-fed networks and multiple
hardened data centers, he brings world-class SLA-based contract management including
MCI, Sprint, SBC, Cisco, EMC, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, and Oracle among others.
Mr. Schultz' previous experience includes a range of senior-level positions at
Westinghouse's full-service inter-exchange carrier providing a complete range of
telecommunications, systems integration, and Internet services in the tier II
telecommunications market, and Navisite, a data center & hosting infrastructure
venture. Mr. Schultz also holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California
State at Chico.
Hab Siam, General Counsel
Hab Siam is NextG's General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Siam has extensive experience in a wide range of legal matters, including equity and debt financing, venture capital investments, mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, complex corporate contracts, general corporate matters, and litigation. Before joining NextG, Mr. Siam practiced law with Siam Law Group in Oakland, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, and Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago. He is a member of the California State Bar and the Illinois State Bar. Mr. Siam received a J.D. from Indiana University and an undergraduate degree in economics and political science from the University of Illinois.
Scott Chou, Gabriel Venture Partners
Mr. Scott Chou serves on the Board of Directors at NextG Networks. Mr. Chou
is a General Partner at Gabriel Venture Partners. Scott Chous passion
for early stage technology ventures extends back to high school when he
joined his first startup as a software engineer. He has since worked for
five more technology ventures including Poqet Computer and ICE in addition
to world-renowned research and development organizations such as Bellcore
and IBM. Mr. Chou entered the venture capital arena via the Kauffman Fellows
Program, a prestigious fellowship in venture capital awarded annually to
a select number of recipients. Mr. Chou completed his fellowship at Onset
Ventures, a ground-breaking firm in seed capital investing. He later joined
Gabriel Venture Partners where he currently focuses on the Internet and
communications infrastructure. Mr. Chou received a Bachelor of Science degree
in Electrical Engineering with honors from Caltech as well as a Masters
degree in Computer Science from Harvard University and a Masters degree
in Engineering from Stanford University.
Mr. Scot B. Jarvis, Oak Investment Partners
Mr. Scot B. Jarvis serves on the board of directors at NextG Networks. Scot is currently with Oak Investment Partners where he serves as Venture Partner focused on investments in the wireless communications market. Prior to joining Oak, he was Founder of Cedar Grove Investments, a private equity firm with a focus on wireless communications. Scot also founded and served as the first President of Nextlink Communications, served as a Regional President of Nextel, and served as a Senior Executive with McCaw Cellular (now AT&T Wireless). As Vice President and General Manager of CellularOne’s California region, Scot grew cellular revenues 150% to over $100 million. He has served or currently serves on boards of public and private companies including Excel, Nextel, Nextlink, NextWeb, Slingshot, Visto, Wavelink and Wireless Facilities. Scot is a graduate of the University of Washington.
Josh Revitz, Bay Harbour Management, L.C.
Mr. Josh Revitz is a vice president of Bay Harbour Management, LC which he joined in July of 2001. During his tenure at Bay Harbour Mr. Revitz has played an active role in a number of restructurings within the wireless and wireline telecom
industries. Prior to joining Bay Harbour, Mr. Revitz was an investment banker at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. operating within their Real Estate, Gaming, Lodging and Leisure Group working on a variety of transactions involving the underwriting and issuance of leveraged loans, high yield bonds and asset-backed securities, in addition to advising on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and bankruptcy restructurings. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of NextG Networks, Mr. Revitz currently serves on the board of directors of Hardwood Lumber Manufacturing, Inc. and on the board of managers of Lucky Palace, LLC. Mr. Revitz graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
David B. Walrod
David Walrod has been involved with investing in emerging technology companies since 1995. Until mid-2007, David was a general partner with Oak Investment Partners with a primary focus on wireline and wireless communications, semiconductors, as well as Internet services and infrastructure. Before joining Oak, Mr. Walrod was at McKinsey & Company. He is currently on the board of directors of NextG Networks and Lumasense Technologies and is serving as an advisor for SmartDrive and NR2B Research. Mr. Walrod received his B.A. in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley and earned a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the MIT Research Lab of Electronics and completed a J.D. at the Harvard Law School.
Doug Teitelbaum, Co-owner and Managing Partner, Bay Harbour Management, L.C.
Doug Teitelbaum is co-owner and a managing partner of Bay Harbour Management, LC. Mr. Teitelbaum served on NextG's Board of Directors for four years and continues to be actively involved. Bay Harbour is an SEC registered Investment Advisor providing investment management services to various domestic and offshore institutional and private investors. Bay Harbour invests in mispriced securities and seeks capital appreciation, value creation and, in some cases, current income through the management of a diversified portfolio of event-driven distressed, private equity and special situation investments. Specifically, within the telecommunications sector, Doug Teitelbaum and Bay Harbour have had active investment roles in companies such as TelCove, Inc. (formerly Adelphia Business Solutions), NextWave Communications, Motient Corporation, MSV Investors, and NEON Communications, among others. Aside from his various business interests, Doug Teitelbaum is
an active fund raiser and supporter of medical research foundations and community advancement organizations, and in 2004 raised over $1.4 million net for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund to establish a grant in his wife's mother's name.
Peter N. Wainman, Managing Director, Patagonia Capital, L.C.
Peter Wainman brings extensive principal investing and financial advisory expertise in the domestic and international markets. He currently is based in Bangkok, Thailand and executes transactions primarily in the communications, housing, real estate, and energy industries. Mr. Wainman previously started and ran the New York office of Gores Technology Group ("GTG"), a private investment firm focused primarily on control-oriented buyout investments in the technology and telecommunications sectors. Prior to joining GTG, Mr. Wainman was a Managing Director of Bay Harbour Management, LC, a US$1 billion hedge fund focused on distressed and special situations. Mr. Wainman worked on Bay Harbour's private equity / control investments including lead equity financing of NextG Networks, Inc. Prior to joining Bay Harbour Mr. Wainman was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation ("DLJ") where he was involved in a broad range of domestic and international offerings, including companies in Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong. He was integrally involved in DLJ's lead-managed initial public offering of the first Russian company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Wainman earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.S.E.E. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
