NextG Sets Record With DAS Launch
-DAS Network Is Installed In Less Than Five Months-
SAN JOSE, CA - NextG Networks, the leading provider of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) networks, launched its most recent DAS network in Carlsbad, California in less than five months. The network covers parts of Encinitas, California and allows current and future wireless carriers serving the area to provide both municipalities with a much-needed upgrade in wireless performance.
"As the outdoor DAS market leader, we provided a solution that enhanced wireless performance with minimal environmental impact in less than five months," said John Georges, CEO and co-founder of NextG Networks. "Much like our recent San Diego and Del Mar DAS network launches, our Carlsbad DAS network launch had to address a variety of terrains while preserving the communities’ beautiful natural surroundings."
Within the industry, a DAS system of this magnitude takes a year or longer to launch. However, NextG meets challenging customer schedules because of its status as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), its ability to appropriately navigate through rights-of-way procedures, its depth of experience partnering with carriers and municipalities, and its many technical innovations.
Wireless carriers, municipalities, and universities are increasingly leveraging DAS networks for added value and enhanced performance. These performance improvements include increased voice quality, greater call traffic handling, fewer dropped calls, better mobile coverage, faster file transfers, and enhanced video quality. More and more communities are recommending DAS solutions to address their wireless needs while minimizing aesthetic impacts.
NextG builds, owns, and operates DAS networks using strategically placed low-power, fiber-optic-fed nodes that blend with the surrounding landscape by using pre-existing street lights and utility poles. NextG’s DAS networks scale easily to support multiple wireless carriers, services, and technologies. NextG’s long customer list includes operators across the United States.
